How to Play Kiss Marry Kill Over Text
- One player texts three names. These can be celebrities, fictional characters, mutual friends, or any mix. The trickier the combo, the better.
- The other player must assign exactly one action to each name: kiss one, marry one, kill one. No skipping, no ties, no "can I pick none?"
- After making your picks, explain your reasoning. This is where the real fun happens — the debates can get heated.
- Swap roles so the other person gets a turn answering. Keep alternating with fresh sets of three names.
Rules
- You must assign all three actions. No dodging the question or saying "none of the above."
- Each action can only be used once per round. You can't marry all three.
- The person giving the names should try to make it genuinely difficult. Easy rounds are boring rounds.
- Keep it lighthearted. This is a game, not a real commitment ceremony.
- Both players should agree on boundaries beforehand — using real people you both know can get awkward fast.
Example Conversation

KMK: Shrek, Gandalf, Darth Vader
Them
Oh no why would you do this to me
Them
Ok... kiss Gandalf (wise vibes), marry Shrek (he's loyal and has a swamp), kill Vader (sorry but the breathing would keep me up at night)
You
MARRY SHREK?? 💀
Them
He literally fought a dragon for love!! Name a better husband
You
Fair point honestly. Ok your turn, hit me
Them
KMK: Pikachu, SpongeBob, Baby Yoda
You
You're a monster for this one 😭
Tips & Variations
- Mix categories for maximum chaos — one celebrity, one cartoon character, one historical figure.
- Try themed rounds: only Disney villains, only characters from one TV show, or only musicians from the same genre.
- Play the "wholesome version" with Date, Befriend, Block if you want to keep things PG.
- The best trios include at least one wildcard pick that nobody expects. Throw in a random fictional character to keep things interesting.
